EWAHA offers clinical treatment at our main San Francisco, California clinic as well as international locations. Invitations for Dr. Chow to see individuals for personal consultations in their locales is are welcomed.

For those interested in Chow Qigong services we have provided the profile of Dr. Chow and the information on Qigong. In the meanwhile, we recommend that you obtain the learner's package of the Chow Qigong System. Many have begun learning in this waurl(../html/back-chow.gif)y. The package consists of a book, Miracle Healing From China, Qigong, two video tapes, and a meditation audio tape that teaches the Chow Qigong System. You can learn Chow Qigong step by step by reading the book and following chapters five to seven. The two video tapes will show you more. The meditation tape will teach you how to meditate, calm and heal your body. They can all be purchased by calling 1-800-824-2433.

To learn more about Chow Qigong, there are introductory classes, and intensive training programs in various parts of the country and world. Qigong and Meditation classes are offered here in San Francisco regularly, if you are interested. We recommend that you attend some of these classes or seminars if you really want some hands-on learning in Qigong or to have help with some conditions that you may have. Personal consultations are recommended for any existing conditions especially if they are serious ones. She is also open to invitations to go to your area to carry out training for you or see individuals for personal consultation.

East West Academy of Healing Arts (EWAHA) is a non-profit,  501(c)3 corporation founded in 1973. We have been dedicated to training, clinical  treatment, and the dissemination of information on Qigong and Complementary Alternative  Medicine (CAM) for the past 29 years. Combining the best of Traditional Chinese Medicine  (TCM) and Western Medicine is the core of our philosophy and practice.

Founder and  President is Effie Poy Yew Chow, Ph.D., R.N., Dipl.Ac . (NCCAOM).  Dr. Chow is a Qigong Grandmaster and California Certified Acupuncturist and has been practicing for over 30 years.

Our areas of expertise are in the field of Traditional Chinese  Medicine (TCM) focusing  on acupuncture, Qigong, Tui Na and Ahn Mo massage, Qi Pressure, and other related  techniques fostering overall Mind/Body/Spirit wellness and treatment for disease, pain,  and physical trauma and physiological imbalances.

Treatment at the clinic includes acupuncture, Qigong, Chinese Massage (called Tui Na  and Ahn Mo), and moxibustion. Dr. Chow's approach is truly holistic and treats the whole  of her clients (she prefers this term over "patients"). This means a  Body/Mind/Spirit approach with the goal of the client taking responsibility for their  condition and receiving the tools to regain balance in all aspects of their lives. Clients  leave the clinic with a Qigong exercise program  to follow to maintain their Qi balance and  tonify their whole being. Many of these exercises can be found in the book Dr. Chow wrote with Dr. Charles McGee called  "Miracle Healing From China - Qigong."

Some insurance companies cover acupuncture and alternative therapies so be sure to  check yours. Many of Dr. Chow's clients receive reimbursement from their insurance  policies for treatment  or from their professional associations for continuing education.

Dr. Chow is also well known for her "telephone Qigong sessions" for  long-distance Qi Emission healing. Several cases are documented in the testimonial section in the website whereby clients have been  healed after all other treatment modalities have failed.
